The Bangalore Documentary Film Festival (BDFF) emerges from a city with a long and vibrant history of documentary film culture. For decades, filmmakers, artists, institutions, and film societies in Bangalore have created spaces for nonfiction cinema to be seen, discussed, and debated. We believe this rich tradition deserves a dedicated platform focused entirely on documentary practice.

Organized by Bangalore Film Forum, BDFF is dedicated to contemporary documentary cinema. The festival welcomes feature-length and short documentaries, essay films, hybrid works, observational cinema, personal documentaries, and experimental approaches to nonfiction.
