The Bangalore Documentary Film Festival (BDFF) emerges from a city with a long and vibrant history of documentary film culture. For decades, filmmakers, artists, institutions, and film societies in Bangalore have created spaces for non-fiction cinema to be seen, discussed, and debated. We believe this rich tradition deserves a dedicated platform focused entirely on documentary practice.
Organized by Bangalore Film Forum, BDFF is dedicated to contemporary documentary cinema. The festival welcomes feature-length and short documentaries, essay films, hybrid works, observational cinema, personal documentaries, and experimental approaches to non-fiction.
