Fresh Cuts 2025

Film Screenings & Director Q&As
Curated by: Vinayak Bhat
21, 22, 28 and 29 June, 2025
at Untitled Arts Foundation, J.P. Nagar

These are films made outside the system. Shot on phones, borrowed DSLRs, sometimes on the street or in one-room apartments in cities and small towns. Made with the help of friends, family, whoever’s around. What they may lack in budget, they more than make up for in urgency, honesty, and heart.

Fresh Cuts brings together a group of films that look closely at contemporary India, often from the point of view of young people trying to make sense of the world around them. They look at love, friendship, family, work, and art. Many of these films lean into realism and neorealist aesthetics, capturing life as it unfolds: intimate, messy, unpredictable.

This is work you might not see in mainstream cinemas or major festivals, but it deserves to be seen, shared, and talked about. Fresh Cuts is about creating space for films that break the rules, and for filmmakers just beginning to find their voice.
