Madhurima Maiti is a filmmaker trained in Direction and Screenplay Writing at the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII). Her student documentary, A Girl Beneath the Sun, received critical appreciation and grant support in various festivals, like Mumbai International Film Festival’s Doc Bazaar.
Her practice is rooted in relationships before it is rooted in footage. She approaches documentary filmmaking as an act of friendship first, believing that a camera should move closer only to someone who has already been let in.
