✦ The World & The Self
My father often spoke of a recurrent dream where the bodies of young men and women who had died during the decades of violence that engulfed Assam transformed into swans, gathering once a year in the courtyard of the house where he grew up to sing a song of despair and hope. He spent his life searching for its lost melody, believing it could heal his wounds. This film is an attempt to let go of the dream my father could not relinquish, to loosen its grip on my own inheritance of grief.
