✦ The World & The Self
Quang (23) is a fun homosexual with a quirky sense of fashion, but whenever he goes back home to a quiet mountainous province in the north of Vietnam, he would dress down. At home, his sister, Mai (32) has difficulty differentiating between reality and visions. While Quang thinks of Mai as a force of creativity, their mother, Cuc (55) sees the two divergent children as her karmic debt. All she ever wants is a traditional family with grandchildren to continue the lineage, but the dream seems so distant with her son being queer and her daughter, mentally ill.
